At Ageless Karate we offer many programs, one of which being the sport karate team. The class is held a few times out of the week and prepares students for local competitions. They must be a certain level and rank to compete and though the class is free there are certain guidelines that every member at our school must follow.

What's the difference between sport karate and regular karate?

Sport karate is, as the name implies, a combat sport in which the athletes use karate and demonstrate not only the ability to fight but perfect technique and timing. Fighters are separated by gender and weight class and compete in two categories kumite (fighting) and kata (forms). Prizes include medals and/or trophies.

Are there any fees involved?

Fees you may incur are from tournament fees, private lessons (if needed), coaching fees, and sometimes travel expenses which is why the class is free.

What does it take to join Team Ageless?

Certain time commitments and being a certain rank.

What gear is required?
Show +

As you get more involved in competitions, you may require further gear, but some of the basic gear would be gloves, shin guards and a mouth guard.
