When we initially start learning Karate it is Taught that the weak learn strength & the Naturally strong learn Restraint. Sochin is the kata that defines that very principle its base origin to be believed it was derived from dragon style Kung Fu after time it was taught in the School of Naha-Te by Seisho Arakaki then it was passed down to Shito-Ryu later Yoshitaka Funokoshi in the late 1930s introduced It into the Shotokan Art. The Most noticeable move is called Muso Kamae which is a Combination of Age Uke(Rising Block) & Gedan Barai(Downward Block) yet the Kata is heavily relied on Fudo Dachi(Immovable Stance)it is rumored that Sochin is The Kata to Develop Your Own Internal Ki/Chi Traditionally Sochin is Taught after the Rank of Sandan(3rd Dan) is Attained.
